There has been lots of discussion on this lately. May I suggest a search? It works quite well. Lots of options with all kinds of add ons, retrofits to CDR head units, as well as Continental / Kienzle head units

I put in the blaupunkt Toronto. $150. I hate the way car stereos are designed now but I guess I recommend it. Haha.

I did with an Alpine 149BT and I loved it. I'm kinda of an audiophile snob and am fortunate to live in the same area with the well known Rod Birch so I had my sound system redone. Having the ability to choose when to listen to the engine sound is great .

Kennwood KDC X598 with BT. from Crutchfield. I bypassed the nokia amp and it sounds 100 times better than the stock CR 1 that was there. I think it was like $125. Would never go back to stock now.

Toronto-BT also. I think it looks period appropriate for our cars. At least it has 2 *****.

Default Bluetooth Head Unit

Alpine HD149BT here as well. I cranked up the pre's and tweaked the parametric EQ to give a little grit in the midrange that my ears can grab onto. I chose not to fiddle with the time delay.

Pioneer DEH-80PRS. Sounds fantastic and has a "simple/clean" face. As far as Bluetooth, it works great.

I have the Kenwood KDC-997 headunit. Though the BT does *work*, the headunit seems to have some software issues where the screen freezes if there are hiccups with connectivity with the phone. It was cheap and otherwise I like it, but might want to look at other units besides Kenwood. Sample size of 1...

When I bought mine it had a CDR-220 installed; I really like the looks and the sound seemed decent. So I kept the head unit and added this to replace the CD changer:

I only use the BT for phone functionality and it works great. Apparently it does music over BT too, just haven't tried it so can't comment on how it sounds.

I just ordered the Continental TR7412UB-OR from Germany, available on eBay. Great retro look, nice features, and inexpensive. A few others here have ordered them too.
