Petrol Blue Metallic - Ever seen this color 993 before?
Unless I missed this color in the many photos of Rudy's 993 stable, I suspect this is a very rare color option for a 993. The ad reads "Petrol Blue Metallic" but I'm wondering if that is really the true name of the color.
Guess what Rudy, it's for sale too!
Beyond the color choice, it doesn't seem that exceptionally optioned. But it is a 993TT so one shouldn't be too picky.
Here's the listing:

Petrol Blue was a ~1978-early '80s color that was somewhat common across the line--924s to 930s. Usually had the cork interior, at least on the 911s and 928s.

That is somewhat unique for a 993. I recognize the color but don't think I've ever seen it on a 993. Similar to Baltic.
I wonder who the original dealer was.
$140k for a 98k mile example, another wow.

Actually, I believe the color is turquoise metallic...(L45D)? I think
...And Rudy already has 1 or 2. He almost bought my car before the seller backed away, And I wound up with the car.
My avatar pic looks a bit blue-er, due to the bright day.
From the Porsche color chart...

An Original Paint Petrol Blue Metallic Porsche
A quick reference as to 993 blue paints offered by Porsche AG shows Blue Turquoise (Paint Code J1) was a standard 993 color, and three blue hue paints were extra cost coloir options. Those extra cost 993 colors wer Iris Blue Metallic (D3), Turquoise Metallic (K1) and Midnight Blue Metallic (F8).
The original Petrol Blue Metallic paint stick code sold by Porsche AG is "Porsche 375," but the Porsche (PCNA) Certificate of Originality (COA) Paint Code for our 1978 911SC is "J2J2". The 2015 Edition of the "Red Book, Specifications, Options, ...And More, Porsche 911." gives the paint code as "376", but that does not comport with my original Porsche paint stick. The COA code, J2J2, is the one that we used to obtain a quart of paint in Germany in the late 1980s.
From various reference books on Porsche, Petrol Blue Metallic, a single stage paint, was only offered in the USA on Model Years 1978 through 1981. Theoretically, one could -- through the successor of Porsche's Special Wishes Program, obtain a later car in Petrol Blue Metallic, but I personally have not seen an original type 911 car painted in that color after the 1981 model year.
Attached is an image of our original paint Petrol Blue Metallic 1978 911SC taken before a paint work-up and sealant application. The tail is a 1984 Carrera option, which was painted Petrol Blue Metallic; we still have the original 1978 rear deck lid boxed and in storage.
