45k USD or CAD? I only ask because I see you are from Toronto and the CAD is trading at something like 80 cents right now. 45K in US dollars is lots (about 57k CAD). 45K in Canadian is about 35k USD.

Well that is encouraging because I might be putting my 1997 993 C2 with 130K in KMs (or 81K in miles) on the market soon. Sill waiting to see how a few things in life pan out before I actually make a final decision on this. Oh and my 993 is kind of an S clone. I am the 3rd owner of the car and the 2nd owner did tons of mods to the car essentially putting everything an S has on it with the exception of the wider body. They even badged it as an S though it was disclosed to me when I bought the car that it was only an S clone and of course I would be selling it as an S clone as well. It's not an authentic S.

Of course if I sell the car I will begin to suffer an identity crisis as I won't know what to call myself as it won't me My 993 anymore. I didn't think that one out very clearly when I opened the account now did I? LOL

I'd even sell it for a bit more with the little inventory we have here in Canada. From the sounds of it your car could fetch upwards of 60K cad if everything checks out.

Because, really, sorry, to me guys, this car doesn't seem so special. Although it does have "remote entries". Whatever that is.
There's a reason most of us don't go into the water cooled boards and pop off about stuff we don't know anything about.

Touché. Hey, I used to own a 993, that should count for something!

Never fails... someone not in the market for a particular car saying it's over priced.
It just kills me that I sold my car (a non-S) at the very bottom of the market, back in 2000 I think. About 2.5 years ago I looked at a local 993 that had (IIRC) around 115K on it, airbag light on, lightweight flywheel (that I hated) and needed some TLC for around $28K and I thought it was too much. I guess it wasn't.

Yeah, it sucks. Remember when SC = $17k, 3.2 = $22k, 964 = $28k, and 993 = $32k.

I just clicked on the ad again and was presented with a page saying "This posting has been deleted by its author."

I wonder if the vehicle was sold? or has the owner decided to try and sell it as an auction? or perhaps had 2nd thoughts on selling it?

And my two favorites--the RS America I couldn't hardly give away four years ago @ $22K, and the '73 S that was 100% rust free @ top-of-the-market $20K in 2000.

LOL at prices back in the not so distant past... I bought my 101K mile 964 C4 for $17K. Most 964s were in the high teens back then. Only really nice ones crept up into the twenties. The RSA cost me $22K + the engine from the C4 that I crashed. Back then RSAs exchanged hands for about $10K more than regular 964s. And people complained how overpriced they were!

In 2009 I found a 993 C4S w. 104K miles. The seller was asking $32K and the car sat for 6 months. I bought it for $31.5K because the seller wouldn't budge any further... I enjoyed it for 4 years and when I listed in for $43K some people thought I was nuts to ask so much money for it... Glad I didn't take the low-ball offer from one of the "collectors" here. I ended up getting my asking price.

My current 993 I got for $27K 2 years ago... And I wouldn't sell it if I were offered double that now. This car is a keeper. I actually asked the peanut gallery about a fair price on the car a few months before I purchased it. The consensus was $25K
