Cool before or after?

SO, do we like the twist's or the twist II's??

Before - <a href="http://tinyurl.com/g7vs" target="_blank">http://tinyurl.com/g7vs</a>

After - <a href="http://tinyurl.com/g9rj" target="_blank">http://tinyurl.com/g9rj</a>

Pete

PS, I'll upload the pictures and get rid of these links a little later as I get some time.

Looks little better with the new rims but since the car otherwise seems to be stock, I'd go with the stock rims. On 993 TT, they look good.

I plan on using the stock rims for the track tires because these came with about 400 miles on the rubber. :-)

They really aren't THAT much different, so I would stay with the wheels that are a 993 wheel for sure. It very clear to anyone who will see them and care, that you have taken 996 wheels and put them on a 993. Now if the 996 wheels were VAST improvement, then it might justify it. But since it's not (IMHO), then I would not do it.

I'm a big believer in keeping the correct model year wheels on the car. Like the 95-2001 BMW 740i's with the newer wheels from the 745li model - to me, it just doesn't look right. Or the nice new Boxster wheels on a 993 - to me it doesn't work as well as the perfect 18" turbo twists that are model year 993 correct.

My 2 cents.

Steve

As I also opted for the 996TT wheels for my Turbo, I would have to vote for your after photo. Plus, you picked up an inch of extra wheel width in the rear and can run 315s

I like the new rims, wish they would fit the narrow body car, too ...

Original wheels. They have a "beefy" look to them that (I think) matches up better to the 993 styling.

the new 996 rims a more defined, I think they look great, keep those.. then again, I'm kind of a mod-head.. not too into original looks...

I prefer the original wheels, although the width of the newer ones offsets (no pun intended) that a bit...

Thanks guys, the more I run with the new tires the more I like them. And the more I see the wheels on the car the more I like them also, they are a little more aggressive.

I like the new ones! I like them so much that I just bought a set for my narrow body car '96. Not exactly sure how it'll look, but it's got to be better than the cup wheels I have now. I'll post pictures soon.

They both look good (hows that for fence-sitting??). But I think I marginally prefer the originals...

Mind you, a PSS9 or H&R Coilovers would make both sets look EVEN BETTER!!!

My vote goes for before. The new one's look out of place. IMHO. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />
