I for one can't wait to find the right 993 to fit between my 996 gt3 and my 911sc. They each have their own special place!

The same reason more guys prefer Cindy Crawford over Kelly Osbourne.

Newer isn't always better.

I would never get rid of my SC as it is such a different experience than my C4S and I enjoy being able to experience what each car offers. Everyone is looking for a different experience when deciding which car is best for them. I have been looking at 996 GT3's myself as my potential 3rd p-car!

Hmmmm...totally different experience. If I want refined, I will drive my MB . The 993 offers a far more visceral and engaging experience....regardless of absolute power. I learned to drive in an air-cooled car so the smell is comforting and familiar. Besides, I don't feel like I am driving a time bomb with the IMS fuse lit.

This is a trick question, right? You guys are being incredibly too kind. You know why the 996 is cheap...because IT is. The design, the materials, the assembly line production...cheap cheap and cheap. But, if you're driving one, you know that already. Peace, I'm out (drops mic, exits stage)

unrefined, underpowered, smelling like oil.
If you do not understand why after driving a 993 then you will never understand.

In the oft chance you might have a grasp of why.

A 993 is a living car with a soul.

The 996 is an appliance like a blender.

Be careful what you wish for. Wrapping a 993 around that thin wall between GT3 and SC might severely diminish its value. Downright into 996 territory.

For me personally...the 996 GT3 is not in the conversation when I speak of the 996. I would LOVE to have one of those. In fact your yellow one would do just nicely.

Yes, cabs and targas were NB in 98 (only come in NB)...and I'm talking about US.

'98 coupes were all C2S or C4S

Wow - talk about needing a life... Thanks for that thread. Scroll down and you'll note that Johnny Ireland got himself a 997. It's a great day for 993's.
