Wow. To each his own but I would think "most" prefer a black on black over red/tan if you ever were to sell. But the 2nd one then decide which one you want to sell in a year two. I did that. Just don't do what I did and sell it to cheap!
I just finished doing a varioram conversion on my 95. Its a nice add and makes the car nicer to drive. Total cost was about $2000 in parts and lots of personal time so say $4000. This puts you at a cost of $11,000 to fix your conscience. Is it worth it? I still strongly regret not buying the 97 NB that had 20000 more kms on it than my 95. It was a much nicer car and had many more options. In retrospect, I would do go for the 97 if it has more options and soothes your conscience. You bought the car to satiate your emotions anyway. Nobody needs a Porsche. We do it because we want to.
