Default Cab top replacement - DIY?

I'm thinking about replacing the top on my '02 Boxster with one with a glass rear window. Autotops Direct has them for about $550 - not too bad, but wondering if any of you have dealt with the job on a 993 cab? (Our 993 group seems to be much more DIY oriented, so thought I would ask you folks.)

DIY replacement on the Boxster was a pretty simple job, although I didnt go with the glass rear window version. From opening my first beer to closing the top took about 6 hours...

Thanks Wheeler-dealer! Sounds like a fun little project - always good to know someone else has done it without too much trouble. Man though…why didn't you go for the glass window?!

The glass window (as I remember it) was half size to allow the top to fold cleanly..I wanted to keep the visibility of the larger plastic rear window so went for the that.
It's a really satisfying job when all done...cans look great with new canvas!

Good luck and take photos!

you could combine the boxster diy with this 993 diy and take a shot at it, I'm still too scared to try.
