Default Dropped Festoon bulb into the engine bay! Thoughts?

Butterfingers!

Anyway, fished around with a magnet and not a sign of the dam thing. What'll I do? Think it will fall out the bottom at some stage when the car is moving or just wind up in the lowest point with all the other bits and bolts dropped by accident over the years?

Otherwise known as the great abyss...If I can't find/fish it with a magnet, I forget em. But It doesn't stop me from looking around next time I'm there. This helps me live with any OCD I may have developed over the yrs.

Sometimes a wad of duct tape on a coat hanger works!

Where did you drop it? In the back of the engine? around the intake? Near where the front with the belt?

There are several places they can hide. Around the oil pressure sender area, at the bottom tray one each side of the valve cover, in the nook where the distributor assembly insert into the block, at the nook next to the AC, or finally, at the bottom where the belt pulley is.

The critical place to watch is under the lower fan belt pulley. If the item you dropped clears the pulley it will eventually drop out under the engine no problemo. However if you dropped the item by the pulley and it is too large to clear it can cut a belt or damage a pulley or conceivably an important shaft part so I would rule out that path as an issue first. I have lost a few ignition wrenches down there but they all cleared and ended out on the road somewhere.
