so the car is in for a full glass-out respray .. I'm tempted to go for a rare colour but this is my 'stock' car
just need to remove some little dings, the rust under the windscreen (penny size bubbles) and remove stone chips etc..
The car is so pristine on the inside, it's just crazy the outside is a 7/10.

Will get front of the car wrapped 2 weeks after they're done with the paint, I think.

Been reading lots of threads re bumper trim and glass removal etc..and a nice box of parts (mostly rubber stuff, cabin air filters, fuel pump) arrived along with a full 20k service kit to be done afterwards. Colin's superb pic thread is great re bumper seals.

Has anyone go a full list of the best approach re disassembly? Any special tricks 'while I'm in there' (vario-ram is not an option )
Great point someone made re taking date stamped pics to prove the re-srpay is not accident related - wise/easy advice.

Also some VERY subtle ideas for little, little tweaks?
I like the idea of:
a. slightly different color for the vents in the front bumper (but what color?)
b. off-black for the chrome key hold surrounds
c. and maybe (just maybe) removing the headlight washer nozzles
... what am I missing?

just before the re-spray, the 993's been booked as the Hero car on the new GTA movie with D.aniel Rad.cliffe .. shooting this scene where he 'drives' up to the 'Federal building' just wrapped 5 min ago

Hung around to see if I was need for any 'precision driving' .... but thankfully not!

Car will be on the back of a truck for some 'leaving the city at speed' shots later this week.

Too cool! A "hero" in GTA won't mean "good guy". Looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.

not just a movie but in a nutshell one about Grand Theft Auto and the brothers who struggled to get what is now one of the big 'game' changers made against the 'kids shdnt have that kind of game lobby'.

I think the lobbyist is played by Bill Paxton, the Game designer by (Harry Potter) Radcliffe.

I was going to post it on a '993 in the movies' thread like the 964 guys have (Bad Boys etc..) but couldn't find one, so just plopped it here - not like it's Uma Therman or Scarlett Johansson, so doesn't really deserve its own thread

But fun and at last I'm being paid to drive! Will be doing the precision driving stuff myself as its not really stunts and the driver said he's happier not being used to the clutch etc.. Will post more when there is.

Congrats. But, you have the wrong Steve W for a 993 chip. You rally want Steve Weiner@ Rennsport Systems.

Thanks Ed ... I thought Steve Weiner sold 911 chip chips - but maybe that's just for 964s?

Steve Wong is 911 Chips
Steve Weiner is Rennsport Systems

FWIW, I used Steve Wong for all of my 911 work over the years, but used Steve Weiner for my 993 chip.

Front control arm bushings
Spark plug wires
Steering rack brace if you want to run 18" wheels.

Personally, I would use ER (stock or sport) rubber ones. Never a squeak and outlast the OEM ones. No lubrication needed, either.

Nice car!!!!
