We feel fortunate to have had Heacock handle our collector car insurance for over 25 years. It's very important to remember to check your agreed valuations annually. They have always been attuned and receptive to our requests for adjustments as the market fluctuates.

JB, glad it worked out for you. They are a pleasure to deal with.

I also switched from Leland to Heacock. Customer service is great, increased my agreed value from $80,000 with Leland to $150,000 with Heacock for approx. $100 more on the yearly premium.

Curious what the policy declaration page specifically says regarding the verbiage from their WEB page. The underlined words are from their site.

The vehicle is always kept in a fully enclosed, locked, and private garage whenever the vehicle is not being driven.
The vehicle is only used for pleasure use and is never used for back-up transportation or errand running.
The vehicle is only driven a limited number of miles per year.

Conversely, what would you have if you did not have an "agreed value" policy, in the event of a catastrophic incident?

KBB or NADA valuation?
You would have to prove the value of your car with a qualified, experienced and credible expert like say Expert Auto Appraiser out of Florida. An expert who has been qualified as such by a Judge and who has testified in court previously.

Hey Tony Air C2S -

Your MY97-98 C2S has an agreed insured level of $150,000?

For many 993 C2S owners the changing market for wide body 993's has many under insured. The more recent elevated value levels nudge the risk of thief. In a New York minute a coupe could be container'd at a port, in route-bound to its new home. Ask me how I know ...

Really, $150K USD ?

Thanks Mike

I went to their web site....filled out the application. They called me with 2 hours.....Unfortunately they are not certified to sell insurance in Mass. so they couldn't do business with me. Mass sucks, don't ever move here. They also have terrible gun/firearm laws.

I'd love to see a few posts from those that actually filed a claim (minor, major, totalled) with testimonials.

Relatively new here. Simple '95 993 C2, outstanding shape, 110K miles, worth perhaps $40K (who knows?) Fully insured under my standard policy for a little over $1K/year. Not sure what pay-out would be for a full loss. I called them today and they said agreed upon value based on registered appraisal for say $45K would cost me $1200/yr. Low deductibles, no restrictions on intended use or miles (did not talk track use which I don't do.) What do these boutique companies typically cost and is it just a matter of saving a few hundred bucks. I've little interest in being forced not to use my car for grocery store trips or runs to the office on nice days, made to pull front end first out of driveway vs backing out, etc. I exaggerate but you get the drift. Full freedom vs restrictions for a couple of bucks savings?

Bob, The policy is appx 35 pages. The declaration page itself doesn't specifically call out any of those items you mention but does ref to parts of the policy which do and quite a bit is State specific too so we may not all see the same thing. I had some concerns also, one of them overnighter hotel parking lots a couple times a year and I got covered on that. I would call/email them if you are interested and ask away with any concerns.

Jamie,
Thank you for answering my questions regarding Heacock. I just finished filling out the paperwork and taking pictures of the Dung Beetle.

Hi Mike,

I tried to get Leland to increase my agreed value to approx. $100 to $110K. It was next to impossible. Then I got a real offer from a guy in Santa Barbara to buy my car for $150K. I wasn't looking to sell, but that forced me to get off my *** and find a policy at a higher agreed value. Heacock made the whole process easy.

Take care, Tony

A few years ago, we were on our way back from a PCA gathering when a rock from a truck's tire smacked the windshield of our C2S...right in front of my face! Called Heacock Monday who, in turn, contacted the insurer. Their rep. called me that same day and told me to get whomever I wanted to replace the glass. Got my favorite guy scheduled, he ordered the glass, came to my house, took his time in peace and quiet and did an outstanding job. My only out-of-pocket was the deductible. (Thanks to RENNLIST, I knew how to remove the dash and access the antenna wire).

$150k for a 2s?

I would have taken that and giggled all the way to the bank.
