Default Top end rebuild with a TPC super charger

Hi guys
I finally decided to do my top end, the CEL light has been on for the last two years and oil consumption has been about 500 miles per quart in the three years I have owned it. I decided to add a TPC super charger to the scope of work while they are in there. Sounds like I will be porscheless for the next two months.
Can't wait to feel the POWER of the super charger.
I will have a CT Indy shop do the work.
Keep you posted

So much for that "all stock car" signature block.

Keep us posted and brace yourself for that repair bill!

The scariest part about the repair bill is the unknown
Any ideas as to what could pop up above and beyond while they are in there?
Maybe it is better not to ask

If the costs escalate, delete the SC...just make sure they don't order it first. What could pop up? Things I can think of not in a "top end rebuild": Pistons/rings, new clutch, plug wires, vacuum actuators, fuel injectors,... Shuddering yet?

I would certainly be sure they don't use OEM replacement valve guides. there are far superiors guides available from Steve Weiner for one... let us know how the project progresses!!!

Have fun with the TPC SC! I did that myself and love the added power. I added a bypass to the system, where the SC engages at 3500 RPM, which I prefer due to keeping the normal character of the engine in the 'normal' operating range (I didn't like the drag and sound of the SC during normal, less enthusiastic driving, but as soon as you wind the engine past 3500, the SC kicks in). The RPM crossover point can be set at any value, but 3500 seems to work well (it was originally set at 4000, which was a bit too high).

Bu the way, I noticed that you are not very far from me (I also used to live in Danbury). Let me know if you would like to get together to see what the car is like with the SC.

And the "while you are in there" syndrome ...

Keep us updated on you journey, SC or not, the end result will be worth it.

Spencer (or Dan) will build it right.
I'm jealous. Always wanted an extra 100hp on tap.
I'm putting my $$ into suspension this season...

So when one adds a super charger to the mix, what do you need to do the drive train to ensure it can handle the added HP and Torque?
