rs mounts
WOW! Yes, the car is transformed! In a possitive way. The car has stock US suspension at 50K miles. Yes, I know the PSS-9 system sitting in my office will be installed in short order.
The stock mounts were on their way out, IMHO. The rear of the car at 80mph+ use to feel unsettled during the transition of accerlerating and decelerating. Now its gone. The rear end definately feels more solid as a unit but harsher over bumps - nature of the rear engine beast. Shifting from first to second under heavy acceleration is also improved. With the old engine mounts I would have to wait a couple of seconds before shifting into 2nd under heavy acceleration - I believe this is due to the engine and tranny torquing. Now I don't have to wait :-)
My conclusion is that the liquid filled engine mounts had too much give therefore it allowed the engine/tranny to shift and rock. This would explain why I use to feel the sensation of my rear steering the car at speeds during accel. and decel. Its kind of like having a pendulum in the rear of the car or a loose heavy object weight shifting thus upsetting the balance of the rear and coupled with my stock shocks must of made matters worse.
I'm in the process of trying to get some RS mounts myself. Where did you find yours/price?
Overall, it seems like the majority of folks who do this swap are impressed with the results. How many miles are on your car?
Have fun!
You can find the RS mounts through Gert.

To tell you the truth, I really did not notice any more or less engine noise or vibration with the RS mounts. I do have the RS short shifter with the solid U joint coupling and the shift/car feels extremely solid as a unit. Come to think of it, what I call 'solid' feel others with the RS mount may call it more engine noise/vibration. Either way, I am very please with the RS mount. I would do the trans mount when its time for the RS light weight clutch kit.
