Before I go about causing destruction, does anyone know how to remove the mirror cover off the base? It doesn't seem to be like the 911/964 bases which have a 12pt spline, there is only the wire connector at the bottom of the base, which doesn't look easy to remove.
Has anyone taken this apart before?

It comes apart with a spring loaded screw and locking feet through the center ,the big center screw
is depressed and turned to release the lock and pressure on the feet.
it simply comes apart with those components removed...thanks Bert
