Bill, short answer is no.

964 guys will have to go the whole way with 993 conversion of front end.

Yes Chris, no problem.

They can't w/o moving t he A-arm out w/ 993 longitudinals which moves the bottom of the wheel out. From there it depends on the suspension settings, wheel specs and fenders.

Yes, and I know there are a couple 964 builds that have done just that. Maybe if Ira gets enough demand he could do something 964 specific (i.e. 12mm shorter) but for now it appeared that the main market would be 993 especially given the NLA component.

Has there been any effort to take into account the difference in the different lengths needed between the 964 and 993?

The 993 A arm places the wheel carriers 12.5mm more outboard on each side than on 964. This is due to differences on the longitudinal mounts. As a result the 964 w/ stock longitudinals will need a 12mm shorter tierod.

I am already using the 993 longitudinals. Was considering going back to the 964 and using the outboard settings like the turbo. I have mounted tires to the 9.5 & 11 Speedline RSR wheels and plan on using them to make adjustments to the suspension and will order new wheels this year as well. Might as well go for broke.

I have not been able to find any info on if the RSR used the inner or outer settings. I am assuming they used the outer from what I have been able to determine so far.

993RSR used the 964 front longitudinals and outer holes, This combo pushes the wheel carrier out 30mm/side compared to a stock n/b 964

Yes, and note for those contemplating this, it requires the long (+30mm) ERP outer tie rods specific to the RSR/Gt2 setup.

Ira,

This is tempting. I might be ready to make this change. Lets talk as you get closer to having these ready.

You need them. Will be on my car at some point :-)

Yes, it's a joint effort with ERP. Cary is a very talented suspension designer, and great to work with. I came up with the a design, but Cary had the idea and resources to do an close copy of the OEM part, so we went that route. It took a lot longer to do it that way, but I it think it was well worth it.

Ira

Cool Cary mentioned the pain getting these right. I told him he might be ne'er estimating demand!

On the above you do not need the 993 longs on a 964! Look at my build. If you are doing the ERP outers with gt2 uprights you can ask Cary to supply a shorter outer that will work with the 993 inner design (mine are stock welded 993 pieces, the cup monoballs will work). This is what I did.

Ah, perfect! Good to know. Shoulda figured Cary would have short outer tie rods available :)

For a street car with spirited driving, would one feel the difference between this and pinning?

Hi, please put me in on the list.

Thanks,

I doubt you would notice the difference. If you still have stock steering rack bushings, and original a-arm bushings (inboard) and a-arm ball joints (outboard) I would assess those first.

So when can this be ordered?

I think we'll just have to be patient and find out. In the home stretch now :)
