Who is interested in monoball Gt2/EVO-esque inner tie rods?
With all the pinning (and pining) going on, I thought I would start to get a list together....
As most of you know, the Gt2/EVO inner tie rods are NLA from Porsche. There is something cooking in the aftermarket to make an equivalent (or better) part. So, who would like a set? The more people I have, the more I can nudge re. production. |

What are we looking at for delivery and price?
The OEM part is, IMHO, an annoying design flaw in our cars. Worse if you improve the rest of the suspension, use sticky tires, and/or track your car. I was loathe to drill & pin the standard part given the potential to introduce a stress riser into a safety critical component. With the factory solution being NLA, I have sent my own EVO inner tie rod to two of our well known aftermarket suppliers who are working on something. I have no skin in the game financially, just trying to make this happen. |
Who would be making them?

Two of our well known suppliers in partnership. Or my mom.

Pics of said mom's work pls.

Which part number are you looking at? #993.347.031.80 or #993.347.031.81?
993.347.031.80 Cup part w/ mono-ball |
The inherent design of the inners is that they are not subjected to huge amounts of torsional force. The EVO's design was not as to strengthen, but to remove any compliance. I believe pinning in no way "weakens" the inners to be of any concern. I would've rather bought the EVO's that are NLA, but had no hesitation double pinning the RS inners. With me it's price. But I never sacrifice safety to save a buck.
