What brands and types of spark plugs can I use? I was looking into the new Bosch Platinum +4 but not reference to the 993

Hi:

If I were you, I would use the Bosch FR5DTC's in your car. They run very well, idle nicely and last a long time.

I will not use any Bosch Platinum plugs besides the older DPO series. They simply do not idle and run well in anything that I've tried them in. This goes for VAG, BMW and M-B products.

I'd go along with Steve; when I replaced mine at 30K miles, I put the OE in; car ran fine. I'm ready to replace plugs again, and the FR5DTC's are going in again. You can get them for about $6 apiece, so no reason to use anything else.

For spark plug replacement, Home Depot has a great little tool. It's a spark plug socket with a permanently attached universal joint. It's the perfect length for removing our plugs. They also have a pivoting head ratchet that was a great help also. These two tools made the change a breeze.

Jim, after all the thought and effort I put into my little tool (see picture), I'll try it first before shelling out any money in Home Despot.
