Default Manifold sleeve sweating

I'm doing my winter project and noticed sweating on the left middle rubber sleeve of the intake manifold, I can't really see if the sleeve is cracked, any ideas? The other ones are bone dry.

Looks like oil residue to me, I'd not call it sweating from the pic.

What Ed said...Use some spray brake cleaner on the area, and clean it up. Check it again in a week or two.
If its wet again, you may have a leak from elsewhere that is drifting back to the manifold sleeve, its cracked, or it will still be dry looking after cleaning it up.

I had the same issue. It is most likely an oil leak from the resonance flap in the varioram that that sits right above the fan shroud. There are two seals that go bad and are easy to replace. I got both of them from Suncoast Porsche and they were inexpensive. Problem was that it took 3 weeks to get the seal for the shaft because it came from Germany. There is an excellent DIY on the site if you search. I can also try to dig it up again.

Thanks, I found the DIY I think -> https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...anifold-3.html
What is unclear to me if I need 2 or 1 of these 999-201-371-00? this is the shaft ring, correct?

You just need one of the shaft ring seals and the one gasket seal.

Seems it probably took months if not years for the oil to migrate onto the ring. Clean it off with the CRC electric motor cleaner spray and then decide if any action at all is needed.

true.
on the other hand most winter projects on our cars are make work fun anyway.
especially in this case since the op is looking at cleaning up a very small amount of oil residue.
so I suggest going nuts and removing the varioram for cleaning, maybe even resealing the two outer sections.
replace plug wires, plugs, upper valve covers, fuel filter, sai check valve, send the fuel injectors out for cleaning,
all kinds of fun things that are easily accessed with the intake out of the way.
you'll get to see all kinds of cool things like the slide mechanism of the varioram, the very cool sai pump, even the high tech cruise control.
and the confusing spiderweb of vacuum lines will become very simple to understand.
you'll have to lower the engine some to remove the varioram, but you'll learn a ton about the engine bay area.
good fun.
