I saw a 97TT for sale on autotrader or dupont, I cant
remember, but it was gray. Was there a gray then?
Its like a seal gray, but I dont remember seeing any
unless it was a paint to sample. Just curious if it
was a silver car that was repainted.

Hi OG,
Phil and John are right (thanks guys
)... my car is slate grey and you can see pictures of it at:

I think I have seen some pictures comparing seal grey and slate grey. If I can find those pictures again, I will forward them to you

There was a "paint to sample" grey 993 TT recently offered by a dealer in Naples, Fla. It looked like a beautiful car and the dealer was kind enough to include a photo of the car and a comparably beautiful model on eBay... I think her name was Penelope. Odd how my mind tends to remember certain useless bits of information...

Jeff, being a Cowboy Fan and having seen both the polar and
artic I think the artic has a bit more Cowboy blue in it.
As it is I have a deposit on a midnite blue TT.

I have a 1996 993 dealer color booklet, and I don't see any grays, Visuvio, or that amazing purple color that whats-his-name in Hong Kong recently purchased. They show all the non-metallics as "standard" (white, guards red, speed yellow, black, maybe a few others), and the metalics as "optional" (arena red, polar silver, arctic silver, midnight blue, ocean (?) blue, adventurine (sp?) green, and a few others). Obviously, I don't have that booklet in front of me at work.
These are not all paint-to-sample. Where did these other colors come from? Do I have an obsolete booklet?

Viken,
You're scaring me. How do you keep all those factoids and still remember to zip-up after taking a leak? So there are more colors than those listed in the color booklet? They had "standard", "optional", "special", and "paint-to-sample"? Interesting.
