Don't know the codes offhand, but Glacier White is more of a "bluish", almost iridescent in the right light, kind of white. Grand Prix White is more of a flat, true white. To me, Grand Prix White looks sort of "yellowish". Of course, it could be said that I'm biased.

Brent, Which of these whites is brighter, more like what I would call "refrigerator white." Bottom line I want the "whitest, brightest" white. thanks, Mike W

If you can track down the paint code for Glacier White (be aware that the paint codes may change from year to year...search the archives - there is a previous post which listed the various paint codes) you should be able to go a auto paint shop and look at paint chips to compare the colors side by side. Good luck in your search.

Hi Mike,
I believe the color codes to be:
P5 Grand Prix white
Z1 Glacier White
You may check the auto listings on ebay for an actual photo of one or the other.

The actual "paint" codes are:
L908 - Grand Prix White
L3AT - Glacier White
Glacier is more white than Grand Prix. Very much the color of pure fresh snow, hence the name.

Thanks Viken for the update, although some of the other rennlisters replies seem to differ. Is there an online site where I could compare the two colors side by side? Mike W

Mike W:
Here is how I have heard the two described. Glacier White is like nonfat milk. GP White is like whole milk. Glacier White has a bluish, glacier tint to it and looks very 3D. GP White is 2D.
Lastly, Viken, the code for Glacier White is L3AU for our years.
If you need touchup paint, be sure to get AU and not AT. There is a significant difference.
Autosharp, a rennlist sponsor, has the correct codes for Glacier White and will supply the correct touchup paint, as the porsche dealers can not.
