Default For all of you with pilfered valve stem caps

Hey Group,

I just got a Griot's Garage catalog in the mail and what did I see but pilfer proof valve stem caps with logos. It looks like there is a little wrench that turns an interal nut that has the threads. The hex shaped cap just spins so you can frustrate the little buggers! Hope they don't take it out on your car somehow

Oh, no affiliation etc...

Why bother? Ever hear of "Murphy's Law"? Sometime when you REALLY have to add air you'll find you've lost the stupid removal tool!

The little black plastic thingies that go for four for a buck or so suit me fine. No problems, and if I'm more than 10 ft away can't tell them from fancy yuppie thing-a-ma-bobs.

Bruce, I appreciate the find and actually enjoy the little yuppie "thing-a-ma-bobs". For some of us the small details are enjoyable... thanks.

Yeah, I have the cheapie, 4-for-a-buck caps, too. Steal 'em if you wanna'.
Heck, I don't even mind it when the tire shop loses one.

There has been a couple of posts recently about the fancy caps being ripped off so I thought I'd point these out.

I don't really care one way or another...I just have the black plastic cheepies but some folks like the cool ones. They look better on the Porsche than on some punk's bicycle!!

I have those pseudo brushed chrome look caps from Pep Boys. I think they were $5. However, it pisses me off even when these are taken. It's a violation of my property and a general PITA.

No problem, Bruce. A worthwhile post for those who choose to install shiny valve stem caps. I just had to laugh at Ray's post ....

I'm wiring mine to a stepped up, stungun level voltage regulator.

As Francis from Stripes would say "You touch my stuff... I kill ya!"

Relax guys, the way I look at it is that a stolen tire stem cap is a small price to pay to enjoy what we enjoy. I know it's a PITA sometimes, but you have to keep things in perspective.

Does that also go for the D90's?

One nice thing about the Targa wheels is that the black plastic caps actually look *better* on them, because they fill the spot where one of the bolts would fit. Of course, cleaning them is somewhat of a PITA...

I was really mad when I learned that my valve stem caps had disappeared..

Then I remembered they were in my map pocket. I took them off for a D.E. LOL....

LOL!

Yes, I suppose you can buy 4 D90s for about a buck. Would you believe I still have wheel locks on 'em.

Just wait a few more years, when people will start wondering why someone put Boxster wheels on a 964. You know, like putting 911 Fuchs on a 356.
