Engine is OUT and cutting your lift while your car is still on it is scary, LOL
As I posted in another thread, I wanted to modify my Atlas TD6MR scissor lift. My car was already up in the air on the lift and I noticed that if I was gonna R&R the engine w/ trans, either the rear brace would have to be cut out to allow the rear (front) of the trans to drop down or the car repositioned in a way that I wasnt comfortable with.
So... I decided to cut the rear bar out of the lift but didnt wanna do it with the entire weight of the car on the lift and I wasnt gonna roll it off, cut it and put it back on, so I got my new Harbor Freight 1000lb lift table out, made a total mess trying to fill and bleed the hydraulic fluid for it (the instructions are confusing!) and then lifted the rear of the car up via the engine so to lift it off the rear pads from the scissor lift. Then I cut the bar with a trusty Ryobi reciprocating saw and lowered the car via lift table back onto the scissor lift. No problems at all. No deflection in the lift even.
Engine is out, slapped a few suspension pieces back on to roll the car around to put the 964 up on the lift and voila! Home workshop is very convenient.
To Do while out:
- Re-Install Varioram
- replace leaking Rear Main Seal
- LWF/RS Clutch/PP, etc.
- new clutch slave cylinder and line (just because)
- Crank Position Sensor (maybe... just because)
- detail engine bay
- clean trans and engine
- repaint/powdercoat tins
- drink beers
- eat pizza
- drink beers again
- probably do new PS pump belt
- probably do new distributor belt
- maybe single belt conversion for Fan/Alternator (keeping AC
- Re-install cruise control (had to remove when I did the supercharger due to interferance between the additional injectors in the TPC manifold)
- take pics for innernetz
- beers
Pics for 2015's sake...

Haha... this is my 1st, hence the obligatory pic in the engine bay. I didnt drop it out to do the supercharger. I merely lowered it some. I did however help my buddy who owns that white 964 in the background do his engine R&R 2 years ago. We're about to do his again this week so he can attack an oil leak somewhere between his case and jug or somewhere in there. Could be a through-bolt... could be a head bolt... dunno yet?

Props for diving into this in your garage. Did you sell the TPC Supercharger setup? If so why did you remove it?
haha love a good standing in the engine pic. Always makes me think of this picture:

Initially I sold it to fund a 914 project (including a 2.7 - 6 swap) but those funds have been allocated to a business that needs the cash for working capital so... The 914 project is on hold.

I own a restaurant/bar named Johnny Rads. It is a pizzeria tavern. I love JFA. Todd Bratrud (see Consolidated Skateboards and Send Help) drew that JFA graphic a while back for JFA. Jay Howell (see Bobs Burgers) altered it with the pizza and Gordon Eckler modded the F to the R, hence Johnny Rads Army.
