Headlights into Brake Ducts - Part One
So after Dan in St. Louis kindly sold me some headlights, I have started on the road to making them into brake ducts. After disassembling the headlights and removing the glass (aka PITA), it appears that these are going to work perfectly for the project. So this Phase One, stripped headlights and first fitting. Notice the RS transmission mount next to the light. Maybe I should mount this at the back to stiffen up the ducts.
As you can see in this last photo, there is a straight shot over the oil cooler right to the fenderwell. The plan is to run the brake hose to the top of the inner fenderwell and then down towards the a-arm and over to the rotor.
Next step is to mount a front panel and the 2-1/2" hard pipe from the hole in the facia to right above the oil coolers.
Another benefit to this project is that there is almost now weight left in the empty housings. Probably will save 5-8 lbs per side
