Question LWF New clutch part number? What does this mean?

I previously posted my problems with the DMF overheating and slipping. I decided to look into the cost of the LWF package and installation.

I came across this bit of information from my dealer but they could offer no explanation other than "Porsche does this from time to time"

The RS clutch previously part number 964-116-011-61 has been changed to part number 996-116-015-30.

I started wondering if this is now the clutch from the 996 RS, if so, is it new and improved or is it the same part with a new part number?

Has anyone had a chance to compare the two clutch discs side by side?

The clutch is the one from the 996 GT3 Clubsport.
It is pretty much the same as the 964RS/993RS clutch.

Gert, if you are correct, and I am sure you are, then this clutch disk which has been designed to handle 284 ft lbs of torque should last a long time with the 250 ft lbs of my 993.

Has anyone worn out a LWF clutch assembly if so how many miles did it take and what were the circumstances.

Thanks as always

Levino
