Mike,
If you look underneath the back of your car, it is the plate covering the underside of your engine. If you can not see your engine, you have one on, else you do not. (some people take it off - I wouldn't personally, like the added protection)

I had what I think is the tray removed today. BUt what has me confused is the shape of it. It is really not tray shaped per say. kind of shaped like a little chair?.

Yup, flat on the bottom and width of the engine, very short legs...

Hey RS, what is this?!

You have an RS w/ tea tray still on

Think about all the weight etc.

After the paint is done, say to the tray, will you?

FF,
Hate to shock hard-core enthusiasts, but I have opted to keep some comfort options on my car.

Brace yourselves: air-bags, air-conditioning, electric windows, sun-roof (this is the real give-away that it is not an original RS), back seats, and even GPS. Gulp...

(FF: still waiting for the CD to come back... Hope I get it back by Xmas...)

I believe so. It was removed today. It just does not look like a tray to me?..So I have been wondering??? Looks more like a small chair with no legs I can see where it "protects the engine", but I am not too sure why it would also go up into the engine? I always thought a "tray was " flat?....

...as much as I'd like to have it Phill, I believe you should hold on to it just in case However, if you could care less for the little leg less chair let me know

RS,

GPS?! You don't find the turns on the track? Just kidding...

If I was you I'd remove the backseats, sunroof is too much work to do & I'm not sure about elctric windows... But keep the bags & A/C, other is for safety and other for... well, you don't want your butt to sweat too much

My older 911 does not have: heat exhangers (so, no heating), A/C, electric windows, airbags (well, it's -75), spare tyre... What else I could remove from there But my 993 has them. Although I'm thinking what to do...

But the sound tray... that was off in a minute when I got the 993! I did it mainly because of the heat related problems I've heard but it saves a little weight too!

I'm already waiting for the christmas

FF,
Not to shock you further, but, I do like the sunroof, and as to the back seats, I do sometimes have 2 ladies (once even 3) in the car.
