Default Interstate MTP-91/T6 Venting

I purchased an Interstate MTP-91/T6 battery to replace the Interstate MTP-91 that came with my car. The old battery utilized the vent kit adapter that attached to the center of the battery. The new MTP-91/T6 does not have a center connection point, but has holes on either side for the vent connection.

How does the vent tube connect to the MTP-91/T6? Is there a fitting that will need to be ordered? The barbed connector that came with the old vent kit does not fit properly.

Any help and/or pictures that can be provided is appreciated.

Find anything that is an interference fit in the side, then go to auto parts store and find a barbed 90 degree fitting. Some are "stepped" and you can just cut it to diameter.
I actually used a drip irrigation 90 that worked perfectly

Thank you for your suggestion. I thought Interstate would have an adapter that wouldn't require a make-shift connection. I'll look through my irrigation parts to see if I can find something that will work.

I used a air hose plastic Tee and some fish tank air hose to each end of the battery

Also, the red plastic flap that covers the positive terminal has a 'blank' vent plug to put in the end that you don't use...it breaks off the flap and plugs right in.

The battery came with one side plugged. Do both sides need to be vented? How tight of a fit is needed at the battery connection?

Don't need to vent both sides, and tight enough to not jiggle out with vibration.
