Question Cigarette lighter element

Question has been on RSR list for a month without an answer.
Does anyone here know how to replace the cigarette lighter element?
I tried screwing off the old one to no avail. Seems like nothin's simple until you know how to do it.

Man, I changed out the element in my cigarette lighter, it just unscrewed, regular right hand threads. Maybe yours is stuck. I just used some needle nose pliers to grab it.

Thanks Chuck. I guess I was hoping against hope that it was my procedure instead of my lighter. BTW, I love the "Not Red" inferrance. After a Dolomite metallic, a Platnum metallic, and a black, I finnally got a Guards Red. But it was a mechanical nightmare, so now i have an arena Red, but Guards Red will always be my favorite.
