Default Listed My 993 For Sale

I'm physically sick to my stomach right now after listing my 993 for sale. But, after being out of work for so long, I can't justify sucking my savings any drier than I already have. It sucks when you lose your job due to politics, and you're hearing comments like 'I've seen more improvement in your company's sales and marketing strategy in the time you've been here than the previous ten years'. It's even more discouraging when you've got literally dozens of contacts who are working to assist your job hunting efforts and still nothing comes to fruition.

In any case, I'd like to sell to a fellow Rennlister but I really want to maximize the selling price.

Sorry to hear about your employment issues, I hope you find something soon. The car looks beautiful and the price is fair, glws.

Gorgeous looking car. Lower mile C2 manual coupe and a 97 at that (narrow body coupes were not produced for North America after December 96). Some very nice and expensive upgrades while keeping original appearance. In this market I can't see it lasting long at the price you've listed.

Sorry to hear this is a "need to sell" rather than "want to sell".

Sorry to hear about the job issues as well...these things tend to work themselves out in the end. There will be more 911s in your future.

I sent you a PM on the car.

I'm sick to my stomach too. I hate it when life events force a decision like this.

I don't know Sean well but we've traded some PM's and hoped to get together at a C&C since we both live in Richmond. I have no doubt he's a straight up honest guy based on the quality of his ad and its high level of detail.

I'm quite sure the car is very much as advertised, but if anyone would like another set of eyes on it, I'm happy to take a look at it for them. I live 10 minutes from Sean.

I can also vouch for Euroclassics. Wayne is the main mechanic for 993's there. He was the first Porsche-trained tech in Richmond about 30 years ago and he's bee working on 993's since new. He did my alignment recently and did an excellent job.

GLWS friend, and more importantly, good luck on your job hunt. I'm sure something will break soon and you'll be back in a 993 at some point. Let me know if I can help.

Sorry to hear. Beautiful car rest assured you'll be back.

I own an industrial electronics controls plant in CT with locations in Maine and China www.pqcontrols.com. Pm me for details if you see any synergies.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I'm hoping that something in my 'hopper' will come to fruition and cause me to pull my ad. But until then...

Tugboat, I responded to your PM.

Academictech, I just shot you one as well. I think there might be some common ground we could discuss.

On the bright side, you are not forced to sell in a buyer's market.
46k is quite steep asking price, hope you get most of it. Probably making 8-10k profit on this car.
Next recession you might be able to buy it back for less.

I think you may have left money on the table. It is modded with tasteful upgrades and has very low mileage. I am sure it will sell fast but I dont want to see at being flipped at a dealer when you could use the money. Good luck

I'm beginning to think you're right. I've lost track of how many emails I've gotten on the thing.

Sorry about your situation- I hope I never have to sell either Porsche but know that this situation could very well happen to me. I've tried to insulate myself from selling the 993 by buying a more expensive Porsche.

The silver lining to this situation is that you are selling at an incredible time. As much as I'd like to see it stay in the family, I would throw it on eBay with tons of pictures and let the market dictate the price. Normally I'm a "bro deal" kind of guy but given your situation I think that makes the most sense. I'm sure it won't last long however you sell it.

Also sorry to hear about the distressed sale, and hope you're back with a 993 soon! For what it's worth I was just recently in the market for a 993 NB. Based upon the miles and mods your car is very fairly priced IMHO. GLWS!
