Marucus1, are your referring to the broken spoiler wall?
It aids in proper engine cooling and should be replaced.

The panel shown with, it appears, a long horizontal split, is called a "rear wall" in Porsche Speak. Rather simple to replace…… http://p-car.com/diy/spoilerwall/. Did mine a few months ago. Recommend replacement soon as separation into two pieces can flap around a possibly damage paint. Some financially strapped Rlisters have used duct tape for repair

Be careful not to tear the rubber gasket that holds the actual spoiler wall curtain to the deck lid at the bottom. It has four slots in it that fit between the metal ribs that keep the deck lid rigid.

FWIW - financial status notwithstanding - duct tape is a better quality replacement part.
