I'm feeling really lucky. I currently own 3 "icon" cars : )
This thread is also making me think that selling my E30 M3 would be a big mistake... I met with a buyer last weekend that is interested. I've been on the fence. Thoughts?

I think the e30 m3 is overhyped if you are a driver and you are comparing it to more modern cars. I have had 4 of them. And I won't ever again. Too much money now for what it is. Even the enthusiast auto guy will tell you most newbies buy them from him and then return them to get more modern cars.

Most true collector cars start to look silly vs modern cars. So you have to really be a collector to appreciate them.

I am about to sell my e90 m3 which is also brilliant for a Jeep Grand Cherokee as my daily. Why? Because I am not a collector and I'be had this wonderful car for 4 years. The gt3 gives me the jollies and I can't start stockpiling cars.

Good call on everybody who added the VW Golf. I think the Mazda Miata should also be on the list.

Reiterating what somebody said about older cars looking better/cooler than newer cars, I completely agree. All new cars look like bars of soap. Now you can distinguish old soap-cars from new soap-cars if they have crease-lines in the body.

These might not be classics, but I do think they are very handsome cars:

1991-ish Honda Civic hatchbacks

1991-ish honda CRX - so cool!

2002-ish VW Jetta - very handsome sedan.

First generation Ford Fusion. I thought that car would take over the VW Jetta as the car that all the young post-college professional girls would drive, but it never really took off like I thought it would. Good looking sedan though.

Iconic, eh? I can't believe nobody has brought this up yet:

Ok, fine, it's really more of a truck and recently the G-Wagen's image has taken some hits as the preferred Beverly Hills truck of semi-celebrities and "with it" prosperous MILFs everywhere, but in my opinion it's very similar to the 911 in many ways. They go well together, don't they:
