Default Anti Lock and Check Engine Light HELP

Anti Lock Brake light comes on and stays on while on the freeway then the Check Engine Light comes on and goes off. The car feels as if it is turning off for a slit of a second. '97 993 83K. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a spare DME relay?

My first check would be battery connections, including ground to chassis cable. 2nd would be voltage at start and driving.

If it were me, I'd put an OBDII code reader on it and see what codes are being reported.

Battery connections and DME relay are easy and cheap first things to check

after that it gets more expensive

these cars are getting long in the tooth and electric issues are showing up in the DME itself
cold solder failures
disintegrating plastic parts
etc

If all else fails, It might be worth while to send the DME to a re-builder like Specialized ECU Repair

another cheap thing to check is the sensor connection on the wheel carriers. plug might not be in all the way, or maybe the little allen screw on the rear is loose and the speed sensor wobbles out slightly.
