Default Headlight washer gasket

The plastic headlight washers nozzles on my car insert directly into the front fenders, but they move around. I was looking around the Porsche parts manual and it looks like there's supposed to be a rubber gasket part number 999-702-201-50. I bought this from Pelican Parts, but it seems the gasket doesn't fit properly – much too large. Is there supposed to be a gasket, and if so, is there a different part number specific for the 993?

Thanks.

I have this problem with one of my washers too. I haven't dug into it yet to compare vs my good side, but curious to hear the answer. Thanks for asking this.

Oddly, I have a nozzle and washer on order as we speak. I got my part #"s from the PET. I'll let you know what happens as soon as the order arrives and I have a chance to mess with it.

I just ordered two new little gaskets as one of my washers wiggles around (you can actually pull it out). It looks as though the gasket goes on the underside of the bumper cover. That gasket is missing, I think it got left out when the PO had the bumper cover repainted years ago. I'm going to remove my bumper cover soon to install the FVD dual oil coolers and I'll install them then.

As you say, that grommet is under the bumper and holds the pipe

No gaskets on the nozzle

Snowbird - any pictures of the good side vs bad side? What I noticed on the washer nozzle is that there's a retention sort of clip molded into the plastic. The fender has a notch in it almost implying the clip could fit into that. However the opening on the fender is too large, so the clip doesn't catch. Attached is the diagram from the parts catalog indicating a gasket. And as I mentioned, I bought it by the part number but it's much too large and oval in shape vs circular.

Ahh, so Pervy, when the rubber grommet is placed around the tube, there's way too much play for that to create a tight seal to hold the nozzle from moving. where does that grommet attach to (part 7 in the diagram)? Something behind the bumper? Thanks.
