I'm sure you're missing the spring clip that secures rigid & flexible line to strut, you'll need to order those also. #4 on diagram

i was gonna replace my brake lines with ss ones. my mechanic told me if i'm not gonna be tracking or racing, the stock porsche lines are plenty good for the average driving.

was i misinformed?

No, Porsche races with the standard lines.
