Post Engine Sound Tray?!

My engine sound tray has been collecting dust in the rafters of my garage for over a year.

Today when I went to do an oil change I couldn't jack up the back end because... the engine sound tray was in the way!!

No, I'm not senile, yet. My best guess is that the shop that installed my coil-overs must have had a spare laying around and put it on as a 'favor'.

Now I can't put the back of the car on jack-stands because the sound tray is in the way, and I can't remove the sound tray because the car isn't on jack stands!

There must be a simple solution, but I don't know what it is. What am I missing?

Just roll your car on a piece of wood high enough to get the jack under the car.

If you jack your car on the rear side jack point high enough you will have enough room to remove the sound tray.

DG, when I purchased my 95 993 last year the engine tray was missing. Currently have no intention of replacing after hearing about the possible negative effects of over heating. However, I'd love to know I have one should I ever decide to replace, if you know what I mean. So, if you want to get the spare off your hands give me an email (of course that’s after you've contacted the shop that installed your coil-overs to see if they've looking for it).

Silver Bullet,
Since you hit the 'send' key first you've got first dibbs. I'll call the shop first thing Monday morning and if they don't want it back it's yours. The going rate for Rennlist members is $0.00.

Kash,
The last time I talked to Rob at S-Car-Go (San Raphel CA.) he said he had a bunch of sound trays laying around. He might be able to help you out.
