C 2 VS C 4
Ive narrowed my search down to 2 96 triple black cabs same price basically
1 is a c2 other a c4 i live in nyc any input either way would be appreciated thanks |
C4 is terrific if in NY you plan on driving it in any rain/snow. C2 is also a great version for tail-swinging antics. It's a personal preference and neither is better.
Both are great. Buy the one in the best condition, best service history and the one whose PPI passes with the least problems. Both are fantastic and you cannot go wrong with either one  |
It's up to you whether it's worth the price premium. One is not vastly better or more desirable than the other. I use my C2 in the rain at least a couple times a week. It's perfectly safe if you drive safely. Some say 0-60 times are different but I've heard people argue that point both ways. Anyways, in this market, you are limited to what is available. However, S models do tend to pull in about $15k more than their non-S counterparts for both the C2S and C4S.

C2 is the way to go. Who doesn't like sliding the back-end out with ease?
|
In the spirit of less is more, C2 is better, IMO, assuming all else is equal....but that's rarely the case.

Hi
I have a C2 and have driven C4's and I find the C2 a little more spirited and lighter to drive, not much. but at the end of the day they are both fantastic cars and either way you will not go wrong. Good Luck |
As stated above, both are great...having said that, the C4 Cabs are definitely more rare than the C2's, if that's worth anything to you.
|
Get whichever car is in better condition for the price. All things equal I would pick the C2 but it really doesn't matter that much if the C2 is optioned with LSD/ABD.
|
I love my C2, and have driven my friends C4 Cab. Living in California, my c2 is a great daily driver. If I lived in New York I would buy the C4.

Driven my 2wd for many years here in Ak winters with never any traction probs.
Braking is more critical than acceleration on the slick, 4wd has no advantage there. As others note, hanging the tail out is a hoot. And something about the extra 125 lbs of 4wd hardware is worth about 25hp. Gordo |
Where do you guys "hang the tail out" with any street car?
(I'm not even going to get into proper suspension setup + driving technique for a 993 or earlier 911.) Finally, based on my own data on the ~25HP difference between stock and high-flow exhausts on the yellow car, it's worth ~2MPH up the front straight at Thunderhill on a 75-125 run. Or, .4 seconds when looking closely at the data. Tell me where THAT matters on the street. |
