According to the article, it was targeted for release in 1995. IMHO, it looks better than the Panamera....Clean, uncluttered lines. Incidentally, there was a four-door 911 running around Texas back in the late 60's. Wonder what ever happened to it.

The project above, for example, was meant to be a V8-engined saloon codenamed 989 that would have debuted in the early 1990s.
The global economic downturn during the early part of the decade scuttled plans to bring it to market around 1995,

It was written up in Excellence a few years ago.
Porsche did there own four-seat version of the early car, but it still has two doors. It's in the museum. Actually, they did a few studies.
The 989 is one of many concepts that were ditched from that era. I think the most prominent cause was Porsche's financial struggle in the nineties.

+ 1 on the yack factor, I dislike the Panamera as well. To each his own but a big thumbs down from this Porsche fan.
