Default PPI recommendations in SF Bay Area

I am moving from the UK to San Jose, CA at the beginning of Sept. I have a '95 993 coupe here (which I am selling), and I want to buy a 993 cab in CA. I have seen what looks like a decent one on Autotrader.

Now, first off, I don't know the US market too well - is $35k reasonable for a 95 cab with 92k miles? And where can I get a PPI done? The car is in the Fremont area.

Cheers,

Pat

Hi Pat,

I live in Fremont area too and I second Jeff's thought on CT.

I bring my car to Don Wise at CT Automotive (www.ctautomotive.com) for every service. I highly recommend them.

Another place that you might want to consider is RMG Enterprise in Sunnyvale. Their website is: http://www.realmeangarage.com/

Best wishes

Are you trying to buy the car before you arrive? There are many cabs for sale lately and you may want to wait until you can see them in person.

No - I've emailed the seller to tell him that I'm interested, but not to hold the car just for me if he has an offer before I get there. I want to line up a couple to see as soon after arrival as possible - I don't want to drive a rental car for any longer than necessary

I use CT Automotive also. Don is a nice and honest guy.

DM Motors in Palo Alto is another good choice. Carlsen Porsche often sends their overflow work there when they are overbooked.

Pat,

As far as PPI's go, I'll add another vote for RMG Enterprises in Sunnyvale, CA. I've taken my car to Bob Grigsby for the past 5 years, and have nothing but extremely nice things to say about the man and his shop!

As far as 993 cabs go, you might be interested in this ad in the local PCA Chapter's classified ads. (My apologies to JohnD and Rennlist if this is not appropriate to post here. I also have no affiiliation with the owner of this car -- I just happened to see the ad in my region's newsletter and thought I'd pass it along.) Now that I've said my disclaimers, here's the ad:

1997 911 Cab MUST SELL! Midnight Blue/Blue, 6-speed, CD/Premium sound. 50K miles. Well-maintained, very nice condition, new tires. 2yrs left on extended warranty. $39,500 Contact Alex Halikias at ahalikias@hotmail.com or 650-802-8785.

Good luck, and advance welcome to San Jose, CA!

-- Melissa
