One option you might want to consider is the vintage Recaro LS seats. Here's a rather old FS listing on Pelican-

They offer a great compromise in terms of very good ribcage and thigh support while also providing tilting access to the rear seats. I have (and have had) these in several cars, and have sourced a couple of sets from Thailand through eBay. A couple words of caution: there's a similar Recaro model which has less aggressive ribcage supports, and secondly, there's a similar model that came in the VW GTi back (as I recall) in the mid '80's, and these were for wider butts and the thigh supports were less vertical (i.e., they were splayed out to better accomodate a wider torso). I'm 6'0" and 180 lbs, and these Recaro LS seats provide a tight but comfortable fit.

IMO, these simply wouldn't work without a full backdate, and I'd mulled it over a bit a couple of years ago-not just my reaction to the posted pic. They are nice seats, however.
I would have the same answer for an 3.2 Carrera or SC-not a good fit.

OP, did you ever get the seats? I am thinking for my car also. Of course keep my original seats if I ever sell my car for the new buyer. But if I keep my car for awhile, I would get these seats.

Previously listed as $139 USD, part #00494 on Boulder, CO's FilthyMotorsports.com: search "tilt" on this page for 4 mentions of it being available.

I'm not sure what mounts Vintage Seats makes for the 993 but it is a bit tricky because the tunnel is wider than a early car. I already had these seats for my 72 911 but I popped them in for fun while that car is being finished. Obviously it's a huge weight loss over stock seats. I machined my own brackets that are offset outward a touch to maximize legroom and I added a seat belt anchor for the inside mount because it is integral on the factory seats.

Not sure if you need to do leather, but I went with Sparcos and then had Stefan at GTS Classics reskin the padding with old-school material and then I used a fabric pen to "black out" the lettering
