You are mistaken The Sports are designed to be shorter to be used with shorter springs. That is true across the entire Bilstein range. See the pictures on Gert's page to confirm the length difference. You might want to email Gert to confirm, he's pretty knowledgeable about these things.

Regarding springs, I hope you are aware that there are two different M030 springs sets. One is US spec (does not lower the car), one is RoW, the one you want.

To the OP, Bill Verburg's advice is spot on.

If you're in Farmington, visit Dan Jacobs in Oxford or Auto Associates in Canton. Both are great shops. As a bonus, one could spend hours checking out the cars being serviced at both facilities.
