Anyone know of a place where one can rent lift time and/or garage space in NY to do some basic work on one's car?
Those of us in Manhattan end up either having to bring the car to a shop (even for simple stuff) or else do repairs in the parking lot of a Home Depot somewhere in the 'burbs (it's been done)... neither is a particularly appealing option.
Anything within an hour (possibly 2) from Manhattan would be a welcome recommendation.
I live about 30 minutes north of the city. You're welcome to use my somewhat unorganized garage as a short term fix. My automtive tool collection is modest at best but I've got a jack and stands and a full wood/metal working shop in my basement.
Tech-Law, I appreciate your very generous offer. I will be getting back to you...
JD, it might have made sense to wait until I move out of the city before buying a 993... but that could be years from now and I couldn't wait that long.
I guess Manhattan has a few things over Mayberry!! - thats just not one of them!! It kind of reminds me of a kid in college that had to have my pristine Harley - only to store it on the frat house porch - your car is in our prayers!
