Default Just purchased... wondering about wheels

Hey All,

I just purchased my first 993 (1996 C2 coupe). It has a set of aftermarket 18" alloys that aren't really my taste. I actually prefer the look of the stock Cup wheels and I will probably try and attempt a swap.

I don't know is very much about the aftermarket wheel world, so I'm hoping someone can help me out. Can anyone provide a little feedback about the wheels that are on this car? Simply the brand and or style would be really helpful, but if anyone has a sense of the value (simply for bartering purposes), I would really appreciate it.

Cheers,
Dan

That looks like US height +2"!! If it was proper height, the wheels wouldn't look as out of place.

Look like Kinesis to me, but you'd have to look at markings on the inside to be sure.

I agree with Ed. Get the suspension height in order, then reassess the wheels. Brought down to the proper height, it will be a great looking car.

Congrats on your purchase too!

You actually got yourself a nice set of wheels, I believe those are Work Brombacher:

As other mentioned you get the suspension sorted, lips a polish and you'll have a total different looking car. Flip side if you want to sell those wheels, it shouldn't be a problem, easily $2K with tires.

Our local RL - KP993 has a similar set on his C2S, search for his photos and you'll see how great those wheels can look!

I believe Knight is correct with his wheel ID here.

Fix the suspension and the wheels will look awesome!

Knight +1.

Works Brombacher - or Cargraphic - either way a sweet, well made set of wheels.
Not Chinese knock offs……

Simon.

As everyone has said, tend to the ride height "issue" and everything will look better. But I do love a proper height NB 993 on Cup IIs. Classic.

Thanks everyone. Is the ride height simply an adjustment on the 993? Please excuse my ignorance.

You'll likely need new springs and or struts. It depends on what struts are on your car presently. Give the forum search function a whirl.

Stock suspension has a very small height adjustment in front via threaded collars the rear is adjusted via shims.

But the stock suspension is less than desirable for most anyway.

if you're not in love with those, PM me and let's discuss. I have a set of 18 turbo twists that would fit- they need refinishing, but they are straight and i'd work a trade with you plus cash ( me to you that is! )
