Education on the use of the MY02 on an NB 993
My car (1996 C2) came with old and mismatched tires on stock 17" OEM wheels. It's time to replace them, especially now that the right rear will no longer hold air, due to a previously undiagnosed dubious repair on the inside shoulder.
Rather than purchase new 17" tires, I would like to find a set of MY02 wheels instead, which was my long-term plan anyway. That said, in researching the topic, I have found a lot of details, different part numbers, different wheel names used, different wheels sizes, etc. Does anyone happen to have a link they can provide that will walk me through the information I need to find a set that works? I would appreciate the education.
And, if anyone happens to have a set of MY02s for sale, or that they are considering selling, please let me know. With tires included would be a bonus!

There are two variants of MY02: 986 Boxster wheels and 996 Carrera wheels.
For the 986 option, front wheels are 7.5" wide and the rear wheels are 9" wide. For the 996 option, the front wheels are 8" wide and the rear wheels are 10" wide.
For a 993, the 996 setup of 8"/10" is best. Good luck with the hunt.
P.S. Nice 993. What are the specs/options? It looks like a potential twin to mine (minus the aftermarket turbo bits that someone added to mine).

Some people who have installed MY02s report slight rubbing on the rear brake caliper which would require a very thin spacer, such as a 3 mm. I have these wheels installed, but there isn't any rubbing on my particular car.

Watch out for mismatched sets. There is a seller in Vancouver BC that has some on craigslist. He conveniently didn't list the specs and turned out they were 7.5 and 8" wide rear. I passed on them and the seller is still trying to unload them.

I appreciate the current market advice. That's a good benchmark to have. Also, based on your signature, I would love to see a shot (or many) of your car. It sounds great, based on the description!

Took me almost a year to find a set as they are becoming more scarce. I picked up my set for 500 bucks as they were beaten up bad with tons of curb rash. Got them refinished for $125 a rim and they are flawless now.
