Default Fog light, bumperette, rusted nuts...

Should be a simple fog light bulb replacement, but the nuts holding the bumperettes on are rusted. They've been soaking for a day in PB blaster, but I know they are going to break.

Then what?

pics please - don't see why you have to take the bumperette off.

Same issue last year when installing the turbo s fogs. One side was fine other side rusted solid PB did absolutely nothing, has to drill them out and replace the bolts and nuts on right side top and bottom. PITA applied anti seize during reinstall.

Alright, I had success. About 24hr with PB, and then woke up the nuts with a punch and hammer (pounded 4 sides of both nuts), and then used a little 1/4 breaker bar with an extension so I could go back and forth, a tiny bit little looser each time.

Sorry, all buttoned up already. But the bumperette covers the fog light screw.

I had to remove my bumperettes last year and found that one of the bolts was already broken/missing. I thought these were studs. Are they bolts that are replaceable? If so, from the back side?

Thanks...

Studs attached to a plate from behind.

Today I ran into this. One of the bolts torqued off and the other nut and bolt won't do their thing. Any advice on how to fix this? Is there a way to replace the bolts?

no more advice than what worked for me- soak with penetrating oil, wake it up with a hammer and punch, and go back and forth (tighten a little, loosen a little)

The plates with studs (30) and the M5 hex nuts (33) are:

Left

Right

M5 hex nuts
