Question Fuel leak advice needed

Engine back in and running great! Just took for a maiden test drive around the neighborhood. New LWFW, clutch and golden rod feel awesome.

I had a fuel leak on the right (passenger side) where the fuel line enters the rail, right at the #4 injector. I just replaced the fuel line thinking that would take care it. I've tired to tighten in down (using two wrenches), but i'm still getting a small amount of fuel moisture when I put my finger under the line. Its not dripping...but who wants any fuel moisture!

Any suggestions? Anyone ever put any kind of thread sealer on a fuel line? There seemed to be something on the threads of the prior fuel line - it never leaked before.

I would hate to have to replace the fuel rail when I am as far as I am right now.

Mike, you shouldn't really need any thread sealer nor would I want to use that. Anything gets into the injector and you could have a massively lean cylinder.

I would take a very good look at the fittings, as they shouldn't need to be THAT tight.

Have you looked at the mating surfaces of the fuel line fitting and the fuel rail? And checked the threads on both?

I have a new fuel line and the surfaces are good.

I'm going to try Permatex Aviation No. 3. Supposed to work with fuel lines, just keep it on the threads. I tried tonight, but probably didn't put enough, so will try again tomorrow.

Did have the car out, LWFW, golden rod, RS motor mounts are all awesome. Car really running great!

When I have these problems the primary reason always seems to have been over tightening. Once over tightened the parts are distorted and may not mate up properly again. Also I have found that a defective crimp on the end of a flex line can be present on a new line out of the box..
I agree with Quadcammer using a sealant in a high pressure application involving flammable fluid that when evaporated becomes an explosive gas is not the right solution.

The Permatex Aviation No. 3 did the trick. Nice and dry. Was able to take it for a proper test drive today!
