Default spy photo article of new porsche

Have you guys seen this article and spy photos of the 987 coupe due out 12 months after the roadster, which is due in mid 2005? Pretty interesting.

Autoweek article and photo

A coupe version of the Boxster S with approximately 270 hp would be a pretty fun track car.

That's the boxster lots of people are waiting for... me, I'll wait n see... I got burned real bad on resale of my boxster, so I am playing it safe with the classic 993 ! Maybe in a few years as a track car, when it's lost 1/2 of its value ! ;-)

Still looks too much like the 911. I've heard many criticize the 996 for being twice the price of the Boxster for half the car. I will reserve further judgment until the real McCoy is sitting in the dealer showroom.

Greg,

I understand your thoughts. I was lucky enough to bail out of my Boxster right before the considerable depreciation hit. It was a fun car but I like my 993 better. Now if the it comes out like what is described in the article, well as you said...a used one would be great.

Rezal,
I don't think it is a problem for the Boxster that it looks like the 966, I think it is more a problem for the 996. Of course spy photos of the 997 have it being a cross between the 996 and 993 with a more 993 like front. I think that would definitely distance itself from the Boxster. But as you say we will have to wait and see what actually shows up in the showroom.

In addition to the roadster and coupe, Porsche plans a series of performance models based on its new sub-911 coupe, including a stripped-out Boxster Clubsport model running a powered-up version of Porsche’s flat-six engine.
Now that sounds fun!

Pretty cool about the double-clutch transmission (similar to the Audi TT, or so the article says). It would be great if that was coming to future versions of the Carrera.

Anyone know how good the Audi's is? Hope it's better than the BMW SMG...
