Now that everyone has their 993RS motor mounts in, and some may have even installed the tranny mount, was the mod worth the money? Do you notice any more noise in the cockpit?

I noticed only a very minimal increase in noise, no increase in vibration.

There also isn't an easily noticed difference in shifting. Benefits should be most noticeable on the track where you are rowing the gears pretty hard, but this car hasn't been tracked yet. I know my old C4 gear lever moved around a bit under those circumstances, but then the motor mounts might have been shot on that car.

I think the RS mounts are a good choice if your stock hydraulic mounts have gone bad, but it definitely is not a "must do" on a street car if your mounts are still good.

I like mine a lot. I feels to stabalize the engine a lot over bumpy surfaces, or it could have been the case where my existing hydraulic mounts were really bad.

Definately worth the $250 to install. Was super easy to install too. Remember, if you are installing on a TT, you need longer bolts. I posted the bolt specs in the archives.

I'll let you know after next weeks TracQuest event at Sears. I just recently did my change I certainly noticed the more solid feeling and a slight vibration at idle that was not there before, but then I think those stock mounts had had enough after 6 years of auto-x and big track punishment.

So much so that on the rear right side under heavy high speed cornering the fabspeed muffler would rub slightly the larger diameter Pirelli Slick. A small band about a 1/2 inch wide about 1 inch in from the inside of the tire. Hopefully the new motor mounts will change that. It is noticable that the Fabspeed cans are very large in comparison to some other cans, wonder why?

I am not so certain that the motor mounts are "hydraulic". That would imply there is a fluid component to the motor mounts. Having held the stock and the RS in my little hannd, and having also seen the 993RSR mounts I submit this may be the hierarchy: There are the stock mounts, somewhat soft, the RS mounts, somewhat stiff, and the 993RSR mounts, even stiffer.
