So obviously I am sorta stir crazy looking for things of interest. Lets see a shot of where you actually get to drive your car. Must be good pavement, scenery and be able to develope some speed/Gs.
Here's mine, about 45 mins away. Brand new asphalt on both Old Priest and New Priest grades

Agree with Kai about developing g's on public roads....
But this is my favorite scenic drive... Hwy 80 between Marion, NC and the Blue ridge parkway... Driven at a sane speed its just a fun switchback up the mountain. Anything more than sane speed could be terrifying. Even at my sane speed I've scraped the mirror on the rock face at apex of a couple of turns.
The temperature drops 10 deg on the way up... and there is an old farm off the blue ridge parkway that sells ice cream.... Very relaxing way to spend a Sunday....
Now you've got me day dreaming... its time to head up there again this weekend....

Pikes peak. Fantastic drive all the way to the top. To the dismay of some, it's all paved now but it's still an amazing drive from Colorado Springs all the way to the top.

I am in no way condoning reckless driving. I enjoy my car as much as possible when I can. In town, surrounded by mutants, I drive like grandma. Idiots look at you like you're stupid for not driving fast in a "fast car". On my drives (which are usually mid-week) I find empty roads and use as much of the car as I can within reason. For one I'd like to keep my record clean and another I'd still like to eat my meals without a straw. A half dozen or so track days a year is not enough speed for me :-)

Not a place to go anywhere near the limits. Penalty for failure is very high. But a beautiful and fun road.
