Heads up on RS motor mounts, please make sure to torque the lower nut to spec as they have been known to back off and let one half of the motor drag at very inopportune times. Make surre to use a fresh aircraft style nut or double nut them if You can. I believe it is from the sustained increase in vibration they are exposed to.

Good advice Glen. I saw a RSA drop half of his engine during a race. Worst part was that it severed an oil line and caused a fire. Luckily the engine wasn't damaged nor was there any real fire damage. Could have been a lot worse. Besides that he caused our race to be black flagged for 20 minutes while they cleaned up all the oil. We check the motormounts in the race car after every weekend to make sure they are tight.

Does somebody has experience with solid engine/tranny mounts? As RS mounts are still "isolated" type?

Oh hell...I'm in. With all the money that's going into my track car this month I need to do something for the 993 (to be fair).

If the RS mounts are that good would'nt the solid mounts (what are they, RSR or cupcar) be even better? Do you have to drop the tranny to get the cupcar tranny mounts in? TIA

You don't want to do that in a street car. RS mounts are aggresive enough.

Thanks Greg, but why? What about the tranny mounts - it seems that someone on the list did it and said "yee ha" - seems like they also said the tranny had to come out but I cannot find that for sure.

My car with cupercup mufflers and airbox is is already loud. Another loud addition will not make it louder! I am at group buy too. By the way if GERT! doesn't want to drop price may be another vendor will?

JD,
Solid mounts in a street car will shake your fillings out. Really. As crazy as I am, even I stopped with the RS tranny and engine mounts. If the car was going to be track only, and I mean track only, then one could live with the vibration and the added stiffness the solid mount bring to the game.

Well we will see about the solid motor mounts as I just installed in my car. Of course I thought the PSS9s on the hardest settings with monoballs and a little larger than the normal adjustable sway bars (with sperical links) was a nice ride. Oh yeah, keep forgetting that I am the Lunatic on the HWFM team... DOHHHH.
