Default Headlight buzzer and dash light

Hi All,

Just had some audio installed and I seem to have lots two things regarding headlights

1) Head light on buzzer warning sound has gone (engine off, door open no buzzing sound)

2) On normal beam (not full beam or dipped) the dash light for headlights on (green light) does not come on.

So is question 1) (buzzer) a loose switch or connection that got worked loose when the top dash and FM booster ariel were played with???

Point 2) does the green light come on with normal beams

Sorry new 993 and can't remember if 2 is normal or not.

Thanks in advance!

Did a shop do the install? If so, take it right back and make them fix it. Chances are they cut into the wrong dimmer circuit for starters.

Green light comes on with parking lights only. Not low beams.

My car never had a working headlight buzzer. Several years ago I added an aftermarket one. Maybe adding it was completely unnecessary. Can anyone give me some guidance as to if all cars came with the buzzer and how I may diagnose the reasons why it does not work?

The buzzer comes from a relay which sits directly behind the left-most instrument gauge (fuel gauge). If you can pop it out, you'll see there are two relays (one is for the turn signal flasher, the other is the buzzer for the doors). It may have gotten loose or come out. (Or maybe the radio guys took it out during installation - it's kinda annoying and drains the battery a little.) Very easy DIY to replace.
