I'm in the market for a 993 C2 and I found this place from my search on ebay and other misc places. Has anyone bought a car from them? Does anyone have a review to share? Good or bad? Thanks for your feedback!

This is the particular one owner C2 I'm looking at.

Hmmmm...consignment sellers leave lots to be desired in my estimation.

Generally speaking, they know little about the condition and/or history of the car and stay in business by grinding the owners of the vehicle on their pricing expectations; while listing at a premium price point. The spread, plus maybe a small percentage is their bread and butter.

This does not make them bad per se, just expect to pay more for their piece of the pie.

An independent comprehensive PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) by a shop that specializes in air cooled Porsche, is a MUST!

At consignment price points, anything that comes back as needing work, should be negotiated from the price of the car. If the suspension has not been upgraded or refreshed, you can start there.

Wow --- pretty car! And it has the original 16" wheels on there too! Not something you seen often on the rennlist forums..... BTW, the seals for the front bumper seem to be off kilter a bit ... I have this going on as well....

I'm no defender of this dealer, but I've visited their showroom, which they share with Exotic Classics by the way, and they seem legit. They own the cars they sell, and are not a consignment dealer.

Do your due diligence regarding what to look for and what to avoid. Then find a car you like, get a thorough PPI via a knowledgable, independent shop/technician, and do the deal. If it doesn't work out, start over. You'll eventually find the car for you. Don't worry about what people here think....It'll drive you nuts.

That specific car has option 220 LSD, nice. There isn't much tire choices in 16" for a 993.

Recommendation: Run a Carfax report

It is my opinion this is a $34K car.

I had a 89 VW GTI track car that look great in photos. In reality it needed new paint. So, I think I'll wait till I find something I can physically put my hands on. Anyone know of a decent 993 C2 manual with 40 to 60k miles on the West coast let me know. I hope someone on the east coast will go look at this car. Thanks!

I was interested in a 993 they had a few months ago, found them good to deal with but post PPI I didn't complete the transaction.

Since then I visited the showroom / warehouse to see for myself the car in question, from the many observations I can say they have a great photo booth which presents the cars extremely well, it's also a business with profit expectations and overheads. They also (well the other main dealer in the building) have some very very nice motors.

If it's the right car, PPI check out well and it's a price your happy to pay then go ahead.

I was very lucky to be online at the right time and ready to do the deal with an excellent RL car (which was what I knew was the right way to go all along but when you have money burning a hole in your pants the blood does run from the head to the wallet), be patient, become a member, free the force and a much much better car will come you're way at a much better price, maybe not today, maybe not today but your RL 993 is out there.

So are they out of business? I saw a reference to that in the thread on PP but nothing to back it up.

I don't think there was anything that said that. But, it seems to be said that this guy is one to be wary of.
