I use the Porsche child seats with adjustable width bases- you can narrow them down to suit a 993. Not for age 1 though - ages 2/3 and up

Sometimes I feel like I would benefit from a sippy cup in the front seat as well!

I have two Porsche Junior Plus seats in the rear. Picture below shows a Junior in a 993.

Is that secured with a LATCH system? I just did a quick search on Google and found this.. https://www.oemexoticauto.com/oem-pa...SABEgKoLPD_BwE

hey Porsche Bud - was there enough seat belt for this? I tried a Britax marathon and the seat belt is too short. Did you use anything else besides the seatbelt to install? Thanks

I had the same at some point and it worked fine. I also used the pseudo latch setup described in other posts from me.

This is an incredibly helpful thread.
Little one is arriving in 6 weeks and have tried to put in the rear facing seat. Will try again.
Still learning so I am going to try again and see about installing the latch bits in my 964.

The net I learned:
  • There is no way to do rear facing and have a front passenger. You can lean the front seat forward and have it, but it won't work otherwise. My wife did it exactly once.
  • For rear facing, most people turn the kids around way too soon. Check out www.thecarseatlady.org and read up.
  • Once you do rear face, use a Rennworks anchor / pseudo latch system to help anchor the seatbelt, and even then you probably need a clip or mity-tight (or however you spell their product). There are a few seats that work, documented here and in other threads. A very few. Most absolutely do not.
  • The bubblebum can be helpful, but by the time the kid is old enough to be out of a seat, they might also be big enough that the bubble makes their head too close to the rear window.

Default Must be missing something

Seems like I must not be getting something here. I can’t seem to get a seat to fit snugly in the 993. It was no problem in my 997 without latch - I used a clicktight and the seat doesn’t move even an inch. On the 993 I have tried the cheap Cosco and now I have the Radian XRT and it seems tight until you try and slide it out from the bottom. I went a step further and got the rennline latches and honestly I am not sure if it really has improved anything. The seatbelt is hooked into the passenger side and it could not be tighter. The latch hook are also really tight (and weren’t easy to get the car seat attached to). Yet if I pull the seat from the bottom forward it moves meaningfully. It seems like maybe if there was a convertible car seat with a load leg the issue might be solved? What am I missing here? Appreciate any help!

I found the rear tether helped to. That and sinching it down as tight as possible.
